Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) today announced that Mr Chia Wee Boon will be joining its senior leadership team. He will be seconded to its wholly-owned subsidiary, NCS Pte Ltd, as Chief Operations Officer (COO) with effect from 1 June 2009.
Wee Boon reports directly to NCS Chief Executive Officer, Lim Eng, and will be responsible for growing NCS businesses in Singapore and globally. Mr Lim said: “We are pleased to welcome Wee Boon to NCS. Wee Boon brings with him extensive knowledge about the global info-communications technology market. His keen understanding of the industry is a boost to our efforts to grow our business overseas even as we consolidate our position as the leading service provider in the Singapore ICT market.
“With his experience and track record, Wee Boon will be a valuable member of the NCS leadership team. We look forward to working with him to engage our people in delivering the best results to our customers.” Wee Boon has extensive experience in the IT industry. Prior to joining NCS, he was Senior Vice President for Worldwide Alliance Sales in HP. He has also held various senior roles in technology solutions group sales, customer solutions and customer support in the same company.
Wee Boon graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science (First Class) degree in Computing Studies from the University of East Anglia (UK). He also holds a Master of Science (Management Science) from the Imperial College of Science and Technology (UK). He is married with a daughter
